From Selection to Return: The Rental Process with Lightnin RV

What goes into Renting at Lightnin RV?

Rving has become a popular topic, over the last few years, and it is important to understand the options that are available to you. The main two options of RV rentals are either through a private party rental or through an established rental authority like Lightnin RV. Choosing to rent, from an established RV rental company, can have many benefits and we believe this starts with our process. Here at Lightnin RV we pride ourselves with our rental process. In this blog we are going to explore how our rental process works and how it will benefit you!

How do I pick a unit?

The best part about choosing to rent an RV from Lightnin RV is the fact that we have the largest, newest, and most diverse fleet in the state of Georgia. The first step of the rental process is to decide whether you wish to drive a motorhome or pull a travel trailer with your own vehicle and how many people will be along for the adventure! Then the question becomes where you are going and how the unit will be used. If these questions are something that you need assistance with then we suggest you reach out to a member of our team or explore the options on our website! You are also more than welcome to schedule an appointment to come in and tour our fleet and make the decision that way!

What does pickup day look like?

When you arrive at Lightnin RV at your scheduled pickup time the rental process begins with a 20 minute training video that gives a basic background of the different parts of an RV and how to manage them. NOTE: only if they are renting a motorhome. After completing the video, next comes a little bit of paperwork, where one of our wonderful rental agents will go over the details and specifics of your rental to help get you on the road!

Next comes the most important part, your unit specific walkthrough with a technician! Each specific unit has its own set of details that the technician will spend valuable time making sure you understand! For our travel trailer folks, the technician will assist and showcase how to hook and unhook the unit from your vehicle as well as provide valuable safety information. The walkthrough begins with a tour of the exterior of the unit including, the location of storage and important hook ups. This is also a great time to apply the knowledge learned inside in the video with your unit!  Again, video only if renting a motorhome. Lastly you will be shown how to operate the automatic awning if equipped. After completing and answering any questions about the exterior, we then head inside where you will be shown first important safety features. If your unit contains a slide-out room, the technician will show and be sure that you understand how to operate correctly. Next, you will be shown the location and function of the sleeping arrangements as well as the functioning of the kitchen and the restroom. The best part about this one-on-one time with our experienced technician is the opportunity to learn and ask questions to ensure a successful and safe trip!
